New Year Resolutions نئے سال کے وعدے

I volition drain,
میں ضرور پیوں گی
Long droughts of quiet خاموشی کے لمبے لمبے گھونٹ
As a purgation. اپنی روح کی صفائی کے طور پر
Remember
میں یاد کروں گی
Twice daily دِن میں دہ بار
Who I am. کہ میں کون ہوں
Will prevarication o' nights
راتوں کو میں سوؤں گی
In the bony arms چُھبنے والے بازؤں میں
Of Reality together with hold upwards comforted. حیقیقت کے،اور اِس سے میں راحت پاؤں گی
اِس نظم میں شاعرہ کے تین وعدے
اِس نظم میں شاعرہ اپنے آپ سے نئے سال کی آمد کے موقع پر تین وعدے کرتی ہے جو کہ درج ذیل ہیں
پہلا وعدہ: کہ وہ زیادہ دیر تک خاموش رہا کرے گی تاکہ وہ اپنی آلودہ روح کی صفائی کر سکے۔
دوسرا وعدہ: کہ وہ اپنا مقصدِ حیات دِن میں دو بار روزانہ تلاش کرے گی
تیسرا وعدہ: کہ وہ زندگی کی تلخ حقیقتوں کا سامنا کرے گی اور اِس عمل سے اُس کو راحت مِلے گی۔
Summary of the Poem
In this curt poem, the poetess makes iii resolutions to her at the arrival of the novel year.It is a fourth dimension of self impeachment.So she says that inwards the coming years of her life ,she would rest soundless close of the fourth dimension inwards lodge to purify her contaminated soul.She says that inwards the past times years she has been ignorant of the duties of her life.She lost the aim of her life.Now she is fully determined to know the aim together with mission of her life together with she would recollect it 2 times a day.Her 3rd hope to herself is that she would confront the bitter realities of life together with past times facing the bitter realities of life she would give-up the ghost comfort.

To hand the characteristics of animate to inanimate is called personification.
