The Vanishing Village

Scarcely a street,too few houses

بمُشکل ایک گلی ہے اور نہ ہونے کے برابر گھر ہیں

To merit the little,just a agency between

جس سے آپ کہہ سکیں کہ یہ ایک گاؤں ہے،ایک رستہ ہے درمیان میں

The i tavern together with the i shop

جس کے ایک طرف سرائے ہے اور ایک طرف ایک دوکان

That leads nowhere together with fails at the top

اور وہ رستہ کہیں نہیں جاتا،ایک پہاڑ کی چوٹی پر جا کے ختم ہو جاتا ہے

Of the shot hill,eaten away

اور وہ راستہ کھایا گیا ہے

By long erosion of the dark-green tide

گھاس کی ایک لہر سے

Of grass creeping perpetually nearer

جو مسلسل دونوں اطراف سے ایک دوسرے کی طرف بڑھ رہے ہیں

This end outpost of fourth dimension past.

یہ گاؤں ماضی کا قصہؑ پارینہ بن گیا

So lilliputian happens,the dark do

                                     اِس گاؤں میں بُہت کم واقعات ہوتے ہیں ، ایک کالا کُتا  

Cracking his fleas inwards the hot sun

جو تپتے سورج میں اپنے پسوؤں کو ما رہا ہے

Is history.Yet the daughter who crosses

یہی تاریخ ہے،لیکن وہ لڑکی جو عبور کرتی ہے

From door to door moves to a scale

ایک دروازہ سے دوسرا دروازہ اور ایک ترازوں کی طرف بڑھتی ہے

Beyond the bland hateful solar daytime s'  2 dimensions.

جو زمان و مکاں کی قیود سے آزاد ہے

Stay,then,village,for circular yous spin

اے دیہات نہ ختم ہونا کیونکہ تمارے گرد گھومتی ہے

On deadening axis a globe every bit vast

ایک وسیع و عریض دُنیا

And meaningful every bit whatever poised

  جو کہ بہت ہی باوقار اور بامعنی ہے 

By peachy Plato s' lone mind.
